MailChimp is free for upto 2000 subscribers. However, as with most free services, the customer support will be almost nil.

Still, its a good start for a person who is just getting started with email marketing.

MailChimp doesn’t really like people who do affiliate marketing using their email service, they will close your account and kick you out, so if you plan to monetize with affiliate promotions of any sort I wouldn’t recommend using that one.

I was on Aweber for close to 3 years and had been using them for my list of 8k subscribers. Always found their automation capabilities limited, open rates low and cost to be on the higher side.

Last year is when I moved my blog learn-automation.com from Aweber to SendX and my open rates have been better. Also using their hello bar and popups my list is now over 25k+ subscribers. Used their drips and web push notifications too.

Strongly recommend.
